4th Iberoamerican Seminar on Cultural Economics

To open a forum for discussion and dissemination of studies carried out by academics and specialists from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal investigating topics related to cultural economics, the first Iberoamerican Seminar on Cultural Economics was held in Medellín, Colombia in 2017. Now, the 4th seminar will take place in Mexico City, specifically in its historic center, which is one of the sites declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is hosting the event this time. Interested participants are invited to present papers on the following, but not exclusive, topics: Creative Economy and Creative and Cultural Industries, Economic Valuation of Cultural Public Goods, Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage, Cultural Tourism, Culture and Economic Development, Cultural Economy Indicators, Cultural Consumption, Cultural Labor Markets, Creative Cities and Territories, Cultural Management and Entrepreneurship, Cultural Financing Mechanisms, Cultural Policies and their Economic and Social Impact, Climate Change and Culture, and New Topics in Cultural Economics: AI, Digital Economy, etc.

Those interested in presenting papers in person must submit an extended summary of their work, in Word or PDF format, to https://siec.crim.unam.mx/event/3/  by the deadline of April 1st May 1st, 2024. The extended summary should not exceed 1,000 words. The structure should include the objective, methodology, and results obtained or expected. The summary should include a title, the author(s)’ last name(s) and first name(s), the institution of origin (university, research center, governmental organization, etc.), address, city, country, and the theme/thematic axis associated with the research. Summaries can be written in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. These languages will also be the official languages for presenting papers during the event. Accepted summaries will be announced on June 1st, 2024. The presentation of the papers is conditional upon the submission of the work and registration for the seminar on the official event website starting from August 31st.
