About the ACEI

Who We Are

Founded in 1973, the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI) is a membership organisation that brings together scholars and practitioners interested in the economic aspects of the arts and culture.

While rooted in economics, ACEI embraces interdisciplinary research that enhances understanding of the economic, business, social, and policy dimensions of arts and culture.

The Association fosters a vibrant international community and welcomes new members. One membership benefit is the option to be listed in the current members section of our website, helping researchers and professionals connect. This listing is voluntary and can be updated at any time via membership profile settings.

Our Purpose

ACEI promotes scholarly investigation into the economics of the arts and cultural activities, broadly defined. We facilitate knowledge-sharing among:

  • • Academics
  • • Arts and heritage organisations
  • • Arts practitioners and artists
  • • Policymakers and other stakeholders

By connecting researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers worldwide, ACEI advances understanding of the economics of arts and culture.
