November 26 - November 27
The 5th Ibero-American Seminar on the Economics of Culture (SIEC 2026) will take place on 26–27 November 2026 at the UTPL Convention Center in Loja, Ecuador. The event is organised by the Ibero-American Network of Economics of Culture together with the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI) and the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja.
The seminar aims to provide a forum for academics, researchers, cultural managers, artists, and policymakers to exchange ideas and research on key issues in the economics of culture. Topics include cultural policy, creative industries, cultural labour markets, technological change in culture (including AI and digitalisation), heritage and sustainability, and the relationship between culture, tourism, and local development.
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts of up to 600 words outlining the objective, methodology, and main results or expected contributions of their work. Abstracts may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Accepted abstracts will be published in a book of abstracts with an e-ISSN.
